Welcome to the companion website for Visualizing Modern China: Image, History, and Memory, 1750-Present, an edited volume of essays designed for instruction in modern Chinese history. Visualizing Modern China uses image-driven scholarship to further students' understanding of critical historical issues, while simultaneously offering step-by-step guidance in the analysis of visual sources. More information on the book, including purchase information, can be found by clicking the About the Book tab.

Under the Table of Contents tab, you will find links to visual materials for every chapter in the book. All of the images that appear in the book, along with many supplemental images, are available in formats easily imported into commonly used presentation software. For each chapter, we also provide lists of further readings and study questions; web-based resource suggestions are available via the Links and Resources tab. For some of the chapters, we are pleased to be able to offer accompanying essays on related themes.
